Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon

The Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half is an inaugural race, starting in Alexandria VA, and ending at National Harbor, MD.

This is what their site says:

The Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon covers the very same first eight miles of the beautifully scenic and rolling George Washington Parkway Classic. Then the course gets challenging as you go up the bridge and meet the "Rude Awakening" before finishing at The Awakening Statue in National Harbor.
Start time at 7:30 am at the historic Mount Vernon. Buses will transport runners from National Harbor to Mount Vernon for the race start. Absolutely NO Parking will be allowed at Mount Vernon. Buses will pick up entrants at the upper parking lot in National Harbor which does not cost anything. If you park in the parking garages and paid lots and meters in National Harbor, you will be charged a fee for parking.
Limit 4,000 starters – all entrants must be able to average at least 15 minutes per mile – total time 3:16. We hate to discriminate based on time but we need to get roads and paths back open for the public use.
Technical t-shirts to all registrants and attractive commemorative medals for all finishers.

To register and for more info go here: http://www.wilsonbrid...

Prices are $70 or $65 (active military)

I'll be at the start line around 6:30/6:45, there's no packet pick-up there so I'm not sure how to find a place to meet up. Has anyone run this before?

This is an inaugural event, so no one has done it. What I usually do to pick a place to meet for races I'm attending, is to check out the maps online -- there's usually a start area map or something, then pick a spot that you know won't be too crowded (in front of the port-a-potties, for example would not work). Then of course, pick a time so everyone can meet up, pick a spot to meet after the race, and get to the start line in time.

    Suggestion for places to meet:
I ran the GW Pkwy race and near the start there are shops (white historic looking bldgs). If you are facing the shops, we can meet at the far left end where the red brick path leads to a smaller house/bldg. Let's say btwn 7:00 & 7:15am?
At the end of the race, we can meet near the Mercedes Benz Pace Car (to the left of the hospital tent).
    Good luck runners!
