Hey--subbing in for Carla...
This week we'll start up at the Roosevelt Island parking lot and head out on the Mt. Vernon Trail. Starting to warm up, so make sure to bring water and sunscreen!
Route:
From the parking lot, we'll head south on the Mt. Vernon Trail. People running 2 hours and 45 min will stay on the trail towards Alexandria. People running less will head from the trail over Memorial Bridge towards the Tidal Basin. I mapped out a route all the way to the tip of Haines Point for speedy peops, but most of us will just turn around after 30 min.

Pace:
All paces are welcome! This is a timed route, so everyone will run his/her own pace and turn around at the halfway time marker. If you're training for the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler or the Zooma Half you'll be doing 60 min. If you're doing the Flying Pig Marathon you'll be running 2 hours and 45 min. And if you're not training for anything feel free to run for as long as you like.
Parking:
For those of you driving, please note that the parking lot is ONLY accessible from the northbound lane of GW parkway. You will see it right after the Roosevelt Bridge. If the lot fills up, there is street parking in Rosslyn, just remember to put money in the meter.
Metro:
Rosslyn --exit the station and turn left on Moore St, right on 19th St, left on Lynn. Take a right onto the Mt. Vernon Trail entrance just after Lee Highway, before Key Bridge. The trail will take you to the parking lot. 5-10 min walk.
