Saturday Run - 140 Min (RnR) / 120 Min (MCM) / 80 Min (ATM)

Let's start up again at the Roosevelt Island parking lot.

It's walking distance from the metro (just take the trail on the right, right before the Key Bridge). For those of you driving, please note that the parking lot is ONLY accessible from the northbound lane of GW parkway. You will see it right after the Roosevelt Bridge. Of course, street parking is also available in Rosslyn, just remember to put money in the meter.

This is the last longish run for those training for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon, before we start to taper next week. Those training for the RnR should be aiming for 140 minutes, those training for the MCM will be running 120 minutes, and the Army Ten Miler folks will run 80 minutes.

If you're not training for anything and can't keep up with the long runs, start out with us, and just cut your run short -- last Saturday we had quite a few folks that were only running 3-5 miles.

We will be going up to Rosslyn, crossing the Key Bridge, and taking the paved Capital Crescent Trail (right next to the C&O Canal unpaved trail) for 70/60/40 minutes respectively (depending on your training) then turning back around.

The CCT is not the most interesting trail, but last time everyone loved it because it was shaded! So as the heat keeps increasing, a shaded trail totally beats pretty views...

If you're afraid of your pace, or cannot run the whole thing, a walk/run pace is more than ok.

I will see you then!

The slightly cooler weather helped! Great run!

CCT is nice and shady, but C+O is dirt/gravel... so, it's a toss up for me as to which I like better. Thanks, Max and Kris for pushing me! I was struggling on the way back.
